Set in the heart of the beautiful Wye Valley, the area offers plenty to keep you busy—whether you’re here for walking, cycling, countryside views, great food, or a relaxed round of golf.

We have a plentiful supply of pubs offering excellent food in the locality mostly a short drive from the site, some of which are situated on the walks from the site. You will find a link to many of our favourite local hostelries in the gallery below.

There are a number of Golf Clubs to choose from nearby, including Ross Golf Club, The South Herefordshire Gold club and the Rolls of Monmounth Golf Club.

There are numerous towns to explore Hereford has a magnificent Cathedral, where you can see The Mappa Mundi and The Magna Carter, There is a Cider Museum, and the famous Hereford butter market.

Ross has a choice of good Supermarkets and a Visitors Centre ten minutes from the site, also worth a visit are the market towns of Ledbury and Monmouth.

The nearest village is Fownhope with a Post Office, local store and good pubs.

For gardening enthusiasts there are some very good Garden Centres and interesting gardens, National Trust properties, Eastnor Castle, Hampton Court and Westons Cider Mill and visitor centre with its restaurant to visit in the area.
